Outdoor adventure abounds at Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Hike the Brandywine Gorge Trail to spectacular Brandywine Falls, a 65-foot waterfall. Take the boardwalk through Beaver Marsh and explore the wetlands. See the natural rock formations known as Ritchie Ledges.
The park features over 125 miles of hiking trails for enthusiasts of all skill levels. You’ll find challenging treks with elevation changes that pass through woodlands and cross streams. Beginners will enjoy easier trails, such as the flat 19-mile Towpath Trail that follows the Ohio & Erie Canal. Several short trails are family friendly, and offer the best opportunities to view wildlife.
Cuyahoga Valley maintains four major bicycle trails. Included is the popular Bike Aboard! Program, in which bicyclists can bike the Towpath Trail in one direction, and then ride the Scenic Railway Train back to their starting point. There is canoeing and kayaking on the 100-mile long Cuyahoga River, as well as designated bridle trails for those who bring their own horses.
