The Ohio Campground Owners Association (OCOA) was created for the sole purpose of representing Ohio’s privately owned and operated campgrounds. Everything that we do coincides with that mission to directly benefit you and your campground.  OCOA has over 150 campground members and our strength is in our numbers. The need for a strong state association was never more apparent than during the COVID pandemic.  OCOA was able to use our strength in numbers through critical advocacy efforts. As a direct result, campgrounds were permitted to open and have industry-specific restrictions lifted long before other outdoor recreation businesses.  Our strength in numbers continues to be apparent as we work to make an impact on policies effecting our industry.

OCOA’s lobbyist monitors legislation and administrative rules concerning Ohio’s private campgrounds. OCOA has saved you time and money by fighting taxes on campground services, expensive changes to grey water systems and costly ODH and EPA proposals. OCOA recently passed House Bill 229 which limits liability for campgrounds for risks that are “inherent to camping”.
OCOA offers discounts on Music Licensing; Ohio Workers’ Compensation premiums; Kubota equipment; website and other digital products;  campground amenities such as playground equipment, fountains and aeration, jumping pillows, dog parks, etc.; camp store products; and much more!   You may view a full list (growing daily) of member discounts at
